The General Manager of Oceania Dairy Ltd Roger Usmar went to local school to award prize

Last year Oceania Dairy Limited (ODL) ran a rural mural competition as a sponsorship programme with the Rural Schools in Milk Collection Zone. The theme was Rural and the schools needed to present a mural based on the rural theme.

Three murals were in the final round and they were judged by Sharon Caine, Deputy Mayor of Waimate. The winning school was St Patrick’s in Waimate.

On the 16th of February, the general manager of Oceania Dairy Limited Roger Usmar, with his administrative assistant Robyn Horne, went to St Patrick’s Primary School to present them with their chosen prize of 3 IPad Minis with covers.

At the same time, Roger attended the weekly meeting in the school. During the meeting, he introduced ODL factory and its culture to the faculty as well as students.

Roger said “He is proud to take part in this event enjoying the works by students. No matter who wins in the fierce competition, it is very pleased to see that every child endeavoured to do the mural.

After the weekly meeting, children invited award-givers from ODL to sing the St. Patrick’s anthem together.

St。 Patrick’s Primary School is not a big school with only 38 students. However, they were active in the competition and won the first prize. ODL is proud to be with these children in this event and to provide an opportunity for students in rural schools to show themselves. Inspiring them and encouraging them are the social responsibilities taken by not only ourselves but also the enterprise.
