Mr Jian is a dairy veteran who is very familiar with all the key aspects of the industry and has extensive management experience and strategic marketing ability. Like many of Yili Group's managers, he had started on the front-line, working through various roles such as improvement supervisor, production manager, quality manager, factory deputy general manager, and general manager of multiple base roles. He was most recently Yili Group’s General Manager of the Tianjin production base, where he led the team to win the excellence award of TPM improvement class A certified by the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance, which opened a pioneering position in China's milk powder industry.
Since his appointment as the Resident Director of Oceania Dairy, Mr Jian has been committed to combining the management culture of China and New Zealand to create a unique and creative way of doing business for multinational enterprises.
Logan comes from a varied manufacturing & industrial background with his focus having been on the dairy industry in recent years. He joined Oceania Dairy as Maintenance and Services Manager in 2016 and was appointed as Operations Manager in 2019. His key focus to date has been to provide leadership in Team Development, Continuous Improvement and Business Innovation, supporting Oceania Dairy as a world class manufacturing facility at the leading edge of the dairy industry.
Logan has also gained significant dairy and project management experience at various companies from his time with Industrial Controls South Canterbury. He is a dual trade electrician and instrument technician.
As Acting General Manager Logan is committed to developing all of Oceania Dairy’s people to reach their potential and strive for greatness in areas that they are truly passionate about; and continuing to refine the company's strategic goals and building on its strong cultural integration with parent company Yili Group.
Shane joined Oceania in 2013 having had a similar role at New Zealand Dairies Ltd. He was previously the Executive Director of the Dairy Companies Association of New Zealand and held senior roles at Fonterra, New Zealand Dairy Group and the South Island Dairy Co-operative after starting in the dairy industry with MAF. He is a graduate of Lincoln College (B.Agr Sci) and a Judicial and Ministerial Justice of the Peace. Shane is the main contact within the Company for farmer suppliers. He works with and for farmers to maximize their returns, and with staff to make the most of suppliers’ milk, reinforcing the principle that quality is built through continuous improvement. He is also responsible for ensuring that the company meets all its regulatory requirements. This has involved Shane in developing the Company’s quality systems and securing all initial registrations and consents. He has built and maintained the existing and potential milk supply base, maintains farm regulatory compliance, and ensures the Company meets its own environmental obligations. Shane also represents the Company on industry committees and groups, and government liaison bodies, and maintains relationships with the local community, district and regional councils.
Qing (Chris) Yang
Chris has over 30 years’ experience in the food and dairy industry. His previous roles revolved around sales and project management with a strong technical background, and he joined Oceania in 2016 after 16 years with Tetra Pak.
Chris is responsible for running the UHT business operations, and is focused on performance of the plant, health and safety, quality and regular communications with parent company Yili.
Hila is an accomplished and results focused Biotechnology and Food Engineer, and came to Oceania with over 8 years of experience in various roles in Nestle Nutrition and in a food research laboratory. She possesses extensive knowledge in Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Food Technology, Project Management and Continuous Improvement. Hila is excited to lead the Quality & Compliance teams and to continually improve Oceania’s Quality and Food Safety systems as the company grows.
Having joined Oceania early in 2019 as Senior HR Business Partner, Mike is now responsible for the full suite of people related activity including recruitment, payroll and training, along with reception and administration. He has broad experience in developing and implementing people and safety improvement strategies across a range of industries within both the private and public sectors, with an emphasis on long term-term change, resilience, and cultural alignment to elevate the performance of leaders, teams and organisations. Career highlights include playing a pivotal role in the formation of Oranga Tamariki – Ministry for Children, and most recently as the Principal HR Business Partner at Westland Milk Products.
Mike has a Master of Commence (Hons) from the University of Canterbury and is completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. During his time in HR, he has specialized in employment, health and safety, immigration and privacy law as well as significant change management and organisational development interventions. Mike brings diverse HR experience to the senior leadership team which will support Oceania’s continued growth and on-going contribution to the region.
Ian started with Oceania Dairy as a Shift Manager in 2013, then was later appointed as Capital Projects Manager before also taking on Maintenance and Services early in 2019. With his most recent appointment as Capital Projects, Maintenance and Services Manager Ian brings a solid practical background in this area, along with proven dairy equipment industry knowledge, strong analytical skills, process engineering and planning and experience in business analysis. He has maintained a solid relationship with suppliers during the last five years of capital projects management. He previously worked as a Technologist at Fonterra and completed a Masters in Dairy Science and Technology following his Bachelor of Engineering, First Class Honors.
Chunguang (Elle) Li
Elle’s finance career started with Yili Group in 2009 following completion of her Bachelor of Economics. She is also a certified Statistician. Elle spent time with Yili’s Yoghurt business unit as marketing/sales accountant establishing a database for the Sales Department. She also assisted in development and implementation of information systems including Kearney, Big Data and marketing data integration as Data Analysis Manager in Beijing, and has worked for Yili’s Milk Powder business unit holding different financial roles including as Finance Manager at the Wuhan factory. Elle joined Oceania in 2014 as Assistant Finance Manager and has returned in 2018 as Finance Manager again on secondment from HQ. She is familiar with the working models of China and New Zealand, and is fluent in English, serving as an essential bridge between the Yili Group and Oceania Dairy. Her focus is to strengthen the international communication and financial operations of Oceania in the Chinese market.
Kyle joined Oceania Dairy as a Materials Planner early in 2017 and was later promoted to Sales and Operational Planning Manager. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Science from AUT, and came to the role with around 9 years previous NZ dairy work experience, which includes lab testing, quality compliance/assurance, and wider supply chain planning such as purchasing, production, logistics, and shipping. This has been gained through working with different companies and organisations including Assure Quality, Donxcon Pharmaceuticals and Danone. Added to this, Kyle is a member of the Association of Supply Chain Management, with APICS certification (CPIM & CSCP). He is eager to make a positive contribution to the company and lead the supply chain function to work with both internal and external customers.
