Shiqing Jian

Resident Director

Mr Jian is a dairy veteran who is very familiar with all the key aspects of the industry and has extensive management experience and strategic marketing ability.  Like many of Yili Group's managers, he had started on the front-line, working through various roles such as improvement supervisor, production manager, quality manager, factory deputy general manager, and general manager of multiple base roles.  He was most recently Yili Group’s General Manager of the Tianjin production base, where he led the team to win the excellence award of TPM improvement class A certified by the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance, which opened a pioneering position in China's milk powder industry.

Since his appointment as the Resident Director of Oceania Dairy, Mr Jian has been committed to combining the management culture of China and New Zealand to create a unique and creative way of doing business for multinational enterprises.


Richard Hickson

General Manager

Richard has worked his entire 30-year career within the dairy industry, covering manufacturing, quality, technical and engineering roles. He has extensive experience with Fonterra and its legacy companies in New Zealand, plus several years’ experience working in the Middle East and Asia regions in the Dairy & Juice industry.

Richard joined Oceania in 2013 as Operations Manager and was appointed as General Manager in 2018.  He is focused on bringing people, plant and resources together to create top quality products and a world class team, with a key objective of creating a safe work environment that is challenging yet rewarding.  Richard embraces innovation and is a champion of continuous improvement. He takes great pride in seeing people and process develop together to create a world class company.


Shane Lodge

Supply and Environment Manager

Shane joined Oceania in 2013 having had a similar role at New Zealand Dairies Ltd. He was previously the Executive Director of the Dairy Companies Association of New Zealand and held senior roles at Fonterra, New Zealand Dairy Group and the South Island Dairy Co-operative after starting in the dairy industry with MAF. He is a graduate of Lincoln College (B.Agr Sci) and a Judicial and Ministerial Justice of the Peace.  Shane is the main contact within the Company for farmer suppliers.  He works with and for farmers to maximize their returns, and with staff to make the most of suppliers’ milk, reinforcing the principle that quality is built through continuous improvement.  He is also responsible for ensuring that the company meets all its regulatory requirements.  This has involved Shane in developing the Company’s quality systems and securing all initial registrations and consents.  He has built and maintained the existing and potential milk supply base, maintains farm regulatory compliance, and ensures the Company meets its own environmental obligations.  Shane also represents the Company on industry committees and groups, and government liaison bodies, and maintains relationships with the local community, district and regional councils.


Qing (Chris) Yang

Deputy General Manager UHT

Chris has over 30 years’ experience in the food and dairy industry.  His previous roles revolved around sales and project management with a strong technical background, and he joined Oceania in 2016 after 16 years with Tetra Pak.

Chris is responsible for running the UHT business operations, and is focused on performance of the plant, health and safety, quality and regular communications with parent company Yili.


Wei (Kevin) Wang

Supply Chain Manager

Kevin joined Oceania in 2018 following 14 years’ experience in supply chain management, mainly in FMCG and dairy including key NZ companies like Fonterra, General Mills, Goodman Fielder, Sanitarium.  He has a Master’s degree from AUT and a Supply Chain degree from Waikato University.

Much of Kevin’s previous work involved significant cost savings and transformation, and this has continued with successful transformation of the Oceania supply chain functions leading to immediate savings.  Kevin remains focused on supply chain transformation, developing people and overall efficiency improvements.  Kevin has recently been appointed as GM Supply Chain with our cousins at Westland Dairy and will continue to support Oceania as he assists with handover to Kyle as the new manager going into 2020.


Hila Mory

Quality & Compliance Manager

Hila is an accomplished and results focused Biotechnology and Food Engineer, with over 8 years of experience in various roles in Nestle Nutrition and in a food research laboratory. She possesses extensive knowledge in Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Food Technology, Project Management and Continuous Improvement.  Hila is excited to lead the Quality & Compliance teams and to continually improve Oceania’s Quality and Food Safety systems as the company grows.  She is currently on parental leave and due back part time in November 2019.


Steve Richardson

HR Manager

Steve is a graduate of Lincoln University with a post-graduate Diploma in Business and first class honours B.Com in Horticultural Management, majoring in human resources and marketing.  Steve’s HR career includes senior generalist roles in the public health sector, prison service, airline industry, and insurance, interspersed with consultancy-based support to a wide range of companies. He has most recently worked as a Christchurch-based HR Consultant specializing in employment law, which included engagements with Westland Milk Products.  Having joined Oceania in 2018, Steve is responsible for the full suite of HR management activity including health & safety, recruitment, payroll and training, along with reception and administration.  He brings a broad perspective in managing and leading people to support Yili Group’s continuing investment in the New Zealand economy.


Jingjing (Megan) Wang

IT Technical Support Manager

Megan brings a wide breadth of consultant services in fast moving consumer goods, information engineering, procurement and construction sectors, specializing in the design, building, implementation and integration of IT systems, as well as program, people, vendor and change control management.  With over 10 years IT experience, which included taking part in Stage 1 of Oceania’s Glenavy plant construction as a consultant with Deloitte, Megan joined Oceania in 2015 and has since managed overall IT infrastructure, security, development and projects. Megan has a solid understanding of ITIL4, IT related regulations and policies both in New Zealand and China. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and ERP Specialist.


Chunguang (Elle) Li

Finance Manager

Elle’s finance career started with Yili Group in 2009 following completion of her Bachelor of Economics.  She is also a certified Statistician.  Elle spent time with Yili’s Yoghurt business unit as marketing/sales accountant establishing a database for the Sales Department.  She also assisted in development and implementation of information systems including Kearney, Big Data and marketing data integration as Data Analysis Manager in Beijing, and has worked for Yili’s Milk Powder business unit holding different financial roles including as Finance Manager at the Wuhan factory.  Elle joined Oceania in 2014 as Assistant Finance Manager and has returned in 2018 as Finance Manager again on secondment from HQ.  She is familiar with the working models of China and New Zealand, and is fluent in English, serving as an essential bridge between the Yili Group and Oceania Dairy.  Her focus is to strengthen the international communication and financial operations of Oceania in the Chinese market.

Elle is currently on parental leave.


Logan Hanifin

Operations Manager
Logan began his career as an industrial electrician and was awarded New Zealand apprentice of the year in 2010. As part of this award Logan was given a place on the Outward Bound leadership course, and travelled to Leipzig and Taiwan to compete as a representative for NZ as an electrical installer in the 2013 Worldskills competition. He holds a National Certificate in industrial measurement and control and is both a trade electrician and instrument technician. When Logan joined Oceania in 2016 he had already gained significant industrial experience in many NZ manufacturing industries across Dairy, Agricultural and other Food and Beverage plants. He is experienced in Project Management, Industrial Automation and Instrumentation applications having worked previously at Industrial Controls South Canterbury who carry out projects across many different industries across New Zealand. Following his appointment as Operations Manager in 2019, Logan’s key focus is on business innovation to support a world class manufacturing facility from a Quality and Operability point of view.

Alex Taylor

Acting Quality and Compliance Manager

Alex is a graduate of Lincoln University and after returning to the Company in 2018 he brings 13 years’ experience in quality and regulatory compliance in NZ and Australia, covering dairy, pork and egg production. He also has life-long experience in agriculture (deer, sheep, beef and both dairy goats and traditional dairy), so has personal experience in milk supply from cow to customer. Alex’s usual role is Quality Systems Manager, and in his current acting capacity while Hila is on parental leave, he is focused on building the Quality Team, quality systems, quality processes and a new Laboratory.


Kyle Zhang

Acting Supply Chain Manager

Kyle joined Oceania Dairy as a Materials Planner early in 2017 and was later promoted to Sales and Operational Planning Manager.  He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Science from AUT, and has around 9 years NZ dairy work experience, which includes lab testing, quality compliance/assurance, and wider supply chain planning such as purchasing, production, logistics, and  shipping.  This has been gained through working with different companies and organisations including Assure Quality, Donxcon Pharmaceuticals and Danone.  Added to this, Kyle is a member of the Association of Supply Chain Management, with APICS certification (CPIM & CSCP). He is eager to make a positive contribution to the company and lead the supply chain function to work with both internal and external customers.
