Yang Liu

Resident Director

Mr Liu brings extensive experience in dairy manufacturing and processing as well as a strong professional background in strategic management to Oceania Dairy Limited. He has worked as the general manager at one of Yili’s leading dairy processors in China, Duolun Co., Ltd. Duolun is a key production base for Yili, producing dairy products for its northern Chinese markets.

As TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Manager for Yili Tianjin Co. Ltd, Mr Liu led a team to Kyoto, Japan, in 2019 to win the TPM improvement A grade Excellence Award certified by the Japan Equipment Maintenance Association. Winning this award for production management was a pioneering move in the milk powder industry in China and further consolidated Yili’s credentials as a leading global dairy producer committed to quality and excellence above all else.

Mr Liu has since visited the UK to share knowledge about Yili’s production techniques in establishing one of the world’s most advanced packaging lines.

The role of Resident Director of Oceania Dairy Limited is a new journey of discovery for Mr Liu. He intends to bring innovation, enthusiasm, and a sense of multiculturalism to his work with the Yili and Oceania teams to promote the company and its brands to a broader international market.


Nera Gordon

General Manager

Nera brings 16 years operational dairy manufacturing experience to Oceania Dairy. He has worked in a range of positions manufacturing various dairy products, as well as roles in Automation and Process Control, all within Fonterra.

He joined Oceania as a the Plant Manager for our Milk Powder Plant and has successfully ran this for 4 years before being appointed the Operations Manager in November 2021.  Nera brings a wealth of manufacturing and operational experience to this role, with a key strength in people leadership & process improvement.  This role covers the leadership of our Dryer Operations, Canning and Blending Plant as well as R&D/Technical, IT and Automation. 

In September 2023 Nera was appointed General Manager for Oceania Dairy Limited.

 


Shane Lodge

Supply and Environment Manager

Shane joined Oceania in 2013 having had a similar role at New Zealand Dairies Ltd. He was previously the Executive Director of the Dairy Companies Association of New Zealand and held senior roles at Fonterra, New Zealand Dairy Group and the South Island Dairy Co-operative after starting in the dairy industry with MAF. He is a graduate of Lincoln College (B.Agr Sci) and a Judicial and Ministerial Justice of the Peace.  Shane is the main contact within the Company for farmer suppliers.  He works with and for farmers to maximize their returns, and with staff to make the most of suppliers’ milk, reinforcing the principle that quality is built through continuous improvement.  He is also responsible for ensuring that the company meets all its regulatory requirements.  This has involved Shane in developing the Company’s quality systems and securing all initial registrations and consents.  He has built and maintained the existing and potential milk supply base, maintains farm regulatory compliance, and ensures the Company meets its own environmental obligations.  Shane also represents the Company on industry committees and groups, and government liaison bodies, and maintains relationships with the local community, district and regional councils.


Qing (Chris) Yang

Deputy General Manager UHT

Chris has over 30 years’ experience in the food and dairy industry.  His previous roles revolved around sales and project management with a strong technical background, and he joined Oceania in 2016 after 16 years with Tetra Pak.

Chris is responsible for running the UHT business operations, and is focused on performance of the plant, health and safety, quality and regular communications with parent company Yili.


Hila Mory

Quality & Compliance Manager

Hila holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology & Food Engineering from the Technion IOT in Israel, and Postgraduate Certificate in Commerce from Lincoln University. Starting her career in a research lab, in conjunction with a research centre in Italy, Hila was working on identifying the difference between the fatty acid profile and genome sequence of mother’s milk to cow’s milk. Passionate about supporting the ongoing research & development of infant formula, she joined Nestle Nutrition in 2010, working in various roles up to Quality Manager, overseeing the quality and compliance systems of the Nestle Nutrition site in Israel. Hila has gained international experience in Leadership, Food Safety, Quality Assurance and Research with extensive knowledge of Regulatory Requirements, Food Technology, Project Management & Continuous Improvement. 

As Quality & Compliance Manager Hila’s vision is to deliver to our valued customers safe products to the highest quality, first time and on time, guaranteeing product eligibility to different markets around the world.

Since joining Oceania Dairy in 2017, Hila has led the Quality, Compliance and Laboratory teams to continually develop their people and systems, celebrating international recognition from Yili group for delivering high quality products and achieving excellent results in some of the most challenging audits in the country. 

 


Ian Laing

Capital Projects, Maintenance and Services Manager 

Ian started with Oceania Dairy as a Shift Manager in 2013, then was later appointed as Capital Projects Manager before also taking on Maintenance and Services early in 2019.  With his most recent appointment as Capital Projects, Maintenance and Services Manager Ian brings a solid practical background in this area, along with proven dairy equipment industry knowledge, strong analytical skills, process engineering and planning and experience in business analysis.  He has maintained a solid relationship with suppliers during the last five years of capital projects management. He previously worked as a Technologist at Fonterra and completed a Masters in Dairy Science and Technology following his Bachelor of Engineering, First Class Honors.


Rachel Moore

People & Safety Manager

Rachel is an accomplished Human Resources Professional with more than ten years hands-on and management experience within a range of traditional and leading-edge sectors. These environments include a broad mix of local and global organisations within Construction and Infrastructure, Mining (BHP Billiton) Manufacturing, Hospitality, Transport and Tertiary Education. She has a proven ability to lead and influence at all levels and leveraging effective networks and relationships with others inside and outside the organisation.


Lee (Yifan) Li

Sales & Marketing  Manager

A graduate of Victoria University of Wellington, Lee has an extensive history in international food and marketing management, managing global sales operations focused on markets in New Zealand, Australia and China.

With his extensive knowledge on FMCG industry, commodity trade and M&A, Lee is leading the growth of sales and helping Oceania Dairy to identify new business opportunity.
